A mattress for young children
The density of the foam in our Aloé R new mattress is 25 kg/m². This density is an important factor to consider to ensure adequate support and comfort for your growing child during sleep.
The 25 kg/m² density for a children's mattress will therefore offer the right balance of firmness and comfort to properly support your child's growing body. In summary, a density of 25 kg/m² may be suitable for a child's mattress, but make sure you also consider other important aspects such as safety (standards and certifications) and specific recommendations to offer your child a safe and comfortable sleeping environment.
As for the density of the 70kg/m3 latex on one side of the mattress, this is totally sufficient on a light thickness (4cm) to offer a good balance between comfort and adaptability.
The latex layer and foam block are bonded together with a water-based glue free of MIT (methylisothiazolinone preservative).
An evolving mattress with 2 sleeping surfaces
Thanks to its 2 sleeping surfaces, you can keep the same mattress for longer while adapting it: one side for "less than 5 years" and the other for "more than 5 years". Comfort is totally adapted, with a firmer side (under 5 years) and a softer side (over 5 years). So you can offer your child a smooth transition on the same mattress, but with a slight change in comfort.
An eco-conscious composition
Our Aloé R new mattress is also named for its "recycled" composition: all the polyester fibers originally used in the mattress have been replaced by recycled polyester fibers, because make no mistake, recycled polyester offers several advantages over virgin (or non-recycled) polyester:
- Reduced waste and pollution: By using recycled polyester, Kadolis reduces the amount of plastic waste in the environment (reusing existing materials instead of producing new raw materials)
- Conservation of resources: Recycling polyester uses fewer natural resources (such as crude oil), since recycled polyester is made from PET plastic bottles, textile waste or other existing sources of polyester.
- Smaller carbon footprint: The production of recycled polyester generally requires less energy than the production of new polyester. As a result, it helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate the impact of climate change.
- Promotion of a circular economy: The use of recycled polyester promotes the concept of a circular economy by encouraging the reuse of materials, thereby extending their lifespan and reducing the need to produce new materials.
- naturally flame-retardant : The big advantage of polyester, and why we chose it, is that it has naturally flame-retardant characteristics, so we don't need to add chemical treatment.
What's more, this mattress with its foam and latex core for children is covered with a TENCEL™ Lyocell and polyester cover for plush comfort. TENCEL™ Lyocell is a natural material made from wood pulp. It has a naturally air-conditioning action, ensuring that you always sleep at the right temperature. Finally, the coating of Aloe Vera (a popular plant widely used for its medicinal and cosmetic properties) on the cover ensures that the mattress is extremely soft and naturally irresistible to the touch.
Sizes and thicknesses to suit junior beds
Two mattress thicknesses, 12cm or 17cm, are available to meet the needs and preferences of parents and the evolving needs of children.
- 17cm thick: This format is often considered the standard size for children's beds. It is ideal for beds with or without bed frames.
- 12cm thick: This thickness is generally suitable for bunk beds, trundle beds, hut beds and drawer beds, so as not to exceed a certain height to keep your child safe with the barriers already included.
The choice between these two thicknesses, and therefore the size of the bed, often depends on the size of the room, parents' preferences in terms of design and functionality, and how long the crib is expected to be used.
Mattress quality, however, remains the same for all sizes.
Reassuring certifications and standards for a chemical-free mattress
The Aloé R new children's mattress is fully OEKO-TEX® certified. OEKO-TEX® certification means that the product has been tested and certified to meet certain safety and quality standards. This includes checking for the presence of harmful substances such as pesticides, heavy metals, allergenic dyes, regulated chemicals and other hazardous substances according to Standard 100, for example, which is one of the most common certifications under OEKO-TEX®.OEKO-TEX® certification also guarantees that the product complies with ecological criteria, including limiting the use of certain environmentally harmful chemicals.
The fact that our Aloé R new junior mattress is fully removable offers many advantages, especially for you parents!
- Ease of cleaning: A removable mattress cover allows parents to remove the cover for easy washing in the event of accidents, spit-up or any other incident. This helps keep the mattress clean and hygienic. The cover is simply machine-washed at 30 degrees maximum, with a spin speed of 500 rpm. However, we don't recommend tumble-drying the cover at all, but rather letting it air-dry.
- Durability and longevity: Removing the cover prolongs the life of the mattress. By washing the cover regularly, you can prevent the build-up of dirt, dust mites and bacteria that could otherwise impair the quality of the mattress.
However, the mattress cover does not prevent you from using and protecting your mattress with a waterproof mattress protector and fitted sheet adapted to the mattress size 90x190cm, 90x200cm, 80x160cm, 80x200cm, 120x190cm, 140x190cm or 140x200cm.Good to know: the Aloé R children's mattress is delivered vacuum-rolled, so remember to unpack it on receipt and wait 4 to 6 hours before using it.
Maximum recommended weight for daily use: 60kgs
