How To Spring Clean In Style For Lunar New Year
With Chinese New Year just around the corner, it’s time to prepare for another year of spring cleaning!
For those of you who are not familiar with Chinese New Year traditions, spring cleaning is a huge annual ritual and often a family affair right before the new year comes. Traditionally, the ritual falls on the 28th day of the 12th month of the lunar calendar. Families would clean their entire home from head to toe to clean off any “bad luck” so they could be ready to welcome a new year of blessings and good luck.

CLEAN, DECLUTTER, Organise
While spring cleaning might seem quite overwhelming, start off small and declutter by room to streamline the process. You can kickstart your cleaning with the smallest area in your home first, then proceed to bigger rooms like bedrooms room and living room.
Get a few storage baskets to keep your things organised. We love RICE DK’s raffia baskets and they’re super handy to store everything from toys to clothes. They’re handmade by women from the villages in Madagascar and each piece is one-of-a-kind. The best thing is that you can even get a basket each with initials that matches with your whole family!

BAd luck go away
Part of the traditional spring cleaning ritual also involves taking a shower with water brewed with fresh pomelo leaves, which are available for purchases as small bouquets at any wet market in Hong Kong.
To make this part more fun, why not let your petit enjoy a bubble bath with Nailmatic Kids bath bombs? These bath bombs are made with natural and moisturising ingredients such as sunflower and sweet almond oil and are ultra-gentle on your little one’s sensitive skin. They can even make their own with the bath bomb kit, which is the perfect opportunity for them to get crafty with their hands, learn a thing or two about making bath bombs while enjoying a very lush and lovely bath.
