8 Holiday Movies To Watch With Your Kids

It's the most wonderful time of the year again! As another year comes to an end, why not wind down at home with a cuppa of hot chocolate and cozy up for family movie time? These kid-friendly movie picks include Christmas classics that parents have watched back in their childhood (Grinch anyone?) and newcomers like Netflix's Klaus and Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey. 1. Klaus (2019)

Backed by Netflix, Klaus is a new Christmas classic created by Despicable Me co-creator Sergio Pablos. The 2D animation tells the story of a spoiled, rich son called Jesper who's stationed as a postman and befriended a reclusive toymaker called Klaus. The duo team up together to inspire children writing letters to Klaus in exchange for Christmas presents and they even help to end a long feud between two families in this small town.

"It's Elmo's favourite time of the year!" Sesame Street almost needs no introduction here. The beloved children's show is back with a holiday classic that features Elmo's dad showing him what Christmas means by showing kindness and bringing the spirit of Christmas to Sesame Street.

Looking for a shorter Christmas movie that features cute animals made with felt who are also super funny? The stop-motion film is 30 minutes long and tells the tale of a little bird raised by a loving family of mice, who goes off on a holiday heist to prove to her family she is, indeed, a good mouse and part of the family. A holiday classic from the 90s, Home Alone features the clever youngster Kevin McAllister (played by Macaulay Culkin) being accidentally left behind by his family who goes on to spend their Christmas holiday in Paris. With his family away, Kevin immediately gets up to no good with his wild and crazy antics, including some very clever tricks outsmarting two wannabe thieves. The defeated tinkerer has almost given up on his career and stopped believing in magic until his granddaughter takes on the family cause and bring them back together for the holiday.

Elf is a family classic that will surely bring you some sweet Christmas spirit to your home.

A mashup of Jim Henson's The Muppets and Charles Dickens' Christmas Carol, this unique twist on the classic novella will surely be a hit among kids and grown-ups. The Muppet crew is as delightful as always, and Michael Caine who plays Scrooge has treated his role with the seriousness of a Shakespearean play.
